BHOPAL: With Corona curfew on, practicing for Tokyo Paralympic looks like a challenge for Prachi Yadav. Indian Kayakin and Cnoeing Association and Para India Kayaking and canoeing Association will request the state government to allow her practice with the coach at Lower Lake. Prachi will be the only entry from India in the category at the mega event. Talking to TOI, Prachi said that she should be allowed to practice. “How to appear in a mega event without practicing? My coaches told me that they will approach the district administration for permission,” said Prachi. She added, “I will reach Bhopal in a day or two.” Prachi said it’s a cruical time and every day is important for her. “ I want to use every minute I have left for the practice,” said 25-year-old canoeist Prachi. Secretary General, Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association (IKCA), Prashant Kushwaha said that the association will help Prachi. “We will talk to the higher authorities for her practice. Qualifying for the Paralympic is a big thing and we will make all possible efforts to help our players,” said Kushwaha. Echoing the same sentiments, chairperson, Para India Kayaking and Canoeing Association, Mayank Thakur said that the process has already begun to receive the formal permission. “I have asked Prachi not to waste a single day. She will be arriving in a couple of days. By that time, we will take the required permission,” said Thakur.
