Sedgwick County leaders say over 16 thousand people in the county are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
6,609 people got their first dose last week, and 3,951 received their second. In all, the county health department has distributed 48,425 doses.
Tim Kauffman with the county says there’s more good news with over 3,800 doses of the newly approved Johnson & Johnson 1-shot vaccine on the way from the state.
Under the current Phase 2A vaccination plan, school employees are getting their shots, along with those aged 65 and older. This phase should be completed in the next 3-4 weeks.
